Sundhara, Pulchowk, Thankot, Kittipur, Tripureshwor, Thapathali, Bhimsensthan, Tahachal, and Kalitnati are served by the Teku Substation in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Valley Reinforcement Project constructed this GIS Substation in 1995, with two 66/11kV bays of 18/22.5 MVA capacity. During the same time period, a 132kV Line Bay was built to connect with the Siuchatar Substation. In 2006, one 66kV Line Bay was built with a Japanese government grant and connected to the K3 Substation by a 66kV Power Cable.
