K3 substation, located in the Singhadurbar area of Kathmandu, provides electricity to Bhrikutimandap, Putalisadak, Anamnagar, Singhadurbar, Kalikasthan, and the K2 switching station. With the assistance of the Japanese government, this GIS Substation was established in 2006 with two numbers of 66/ 11kV, 22.5MVA capacity. This 66/11KV Substation is linked to Teku and Siuchatar Substations through a 66kV under ground High Voltage Power Cable. Sludgeless Transformers are used in the functioning of two 66/11kV, 22.5MVA transformers. In 2008, a remote control panel with switching and metering capabilities was built on the first floor for 15 12W VCB Switchgear Panels positioned on the ground level.
