patan Substation with Single Busbar System, located near Patan Hospital in Lagankhel, Lalitpur district, is linked to Thimi, K3, Teku, and Old Patan Substations through an 11kV Ring Main. When the Kulekhani-L 60MW Power Plant was being built, 66kV single circuit Line (SIUCHATAR-1) and 66/11kV Transformer Bays with two transformer capacities of 3x6MVA were commissioned in 1979. By the assistance of the Japanese government, old 12kV BOCBs were replaced with 12kV VCB Switchgears in 1994. Kathmandu Valley Reinforcement Project built 66kV Line Bays for 66kV Baneshwor Line and 66kV Suichatar-II Line in 1997 to increase the Power Transfer capacity in the 66kV System. In 2014, a new 66/11kV, 18MVA Transfonner Bay was installed. In 2018, the substation was updated significantly with the inclusion of a new 66/11 KV, 18MVA bay.
