19. HETAUDA SUBSTATION

Hetauda Substation, located in Hetauda municipality in Makwanpur district, Narayani zone, provides power to Chaughada, HID, and Bhainse. KulekhanII Power House feeds Hetauda Substation through Single Circuit Line and KulekhanII Power House via 66kV Double Circuit Line. Hetauda Substation is additionally supplied by the Hetauda Diesel Plant through an 11kV system. The 132kV line connects Hetauda Substation to New Parwanipur, Chandranigahpur, and Bharatpur. Hetauda Substation, as well as various Bulk Consumers in the Birgunj Corridor, is linked to Birgung Substation through a 66kV Double Circuit Line. Hetauda Substation was built in 1972 and has a capacity of 66/11kV and 1.5 MVA.In 1984, the substation was updated to 132/11kV, 3x3.5 MVA capacity, and then to 132/66kV, 20MVA capacity. The 132 kV Dhalkebar I bay was added in 1985. The 132kV Kulekhani II was linked to the Substation in 1989. To meet the rising demand, a new 132/66kV, 20MVA transformer with a new transformer bay was installed in 1999. The Substation received a new 132kV Dhalkebar II line in 2002. Furthermore, by 2009, the old two 66/11 kV, 6MVA transformers were replaced with two 10 MVA transformers. In 2015, the existing 132/66 KV, 2x20 MVA was upgraded to 2x45 MVA.
