11. Dhalkebar substation: the largest substation in Nepal

 Dhalkebar substation, located in Dhanusha district Janakpur zone, provides power to Janakpur, Sindhuli, Malangwa, Mahendrenagar, Godar, and Lalghad. Dhalkebar Substation is linked to Chandranigahpur and Lahan percent stations through a 132kV double circuit. Dhalkebar Substation was first operational in 1981, with a capacity of 132/33/11kV, I0 MVA. In 1999, the substation was updated with the installation of a 132/33kV, 15MVA transformer. The old 10MVA transformer was replaced in 2001 with a 15MVA transformer, which was upgraded to a 30MVA transformer in 2003. In 2010, the existing 132/33 kV I0 MVA Transformer was replaced by a 30MVA Power Transformer. The current 20MVA capacity was increased to 63MVA in 2017, bringing the overall capacity of the Substation to 93MVA. The 132kV incomer of the 220/132 kV Substation was also linked in this Substation.
